The major focus of Artship Foundation over past six years, 2004-2010, has been the Performing Arts through Artship Ensemble, the Visual Arts through Artship Exhibitions and presentation of scholarly papers at international conferences through Artship Inquiry.
Performing Arts Program: Artship Ensemble
- Creates and presents original dance/theater productions in San Francisco, the Greater Bay Area, and internationally
- Incubates performing arts productions through original historical and musical research, and by conducting weekly Ensemble rehearsals of dancers, actors and musicians as a group, and weekly rehearsals with individual artists, in San Francisco & Oakland
- Presents dance/theater pieces from original productions for community organizations and supporting foundations and agencies
- Participates in special events sponsored by funding organizations and other arts organizations
- Designs costumes and maintains the extensive costume collection of ARTSHIP Foundation
Visual Arts Program: Artship Exhibitions
- Curates, organizes and presents visual arts exhibitions that complement performing arts productions
- Curates, organizes and presents group and individual artist exhibitions in local galleries and in non-traditional exhibition spaces
- Maintains and exhibits the visual arts collection of ARTSHIP Foundation
Research Program: Artship Inquiry
- Researching and organizing appropriate aspects of multi-disciplinary cultural phenomenon for presentations
- Developing access to source material
- Containing, potentially organizing of the Artship Archives
